Working together with Bill\, the group will develop the song’s lyrics and music throughout the workshop. \nBy the end of the session\, participants will have created a song together and will perform it as a group\, led by the teaching artist. \nNo songwriting experience is necessary. DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception \nHai-Wen Lin bittersun  \nIn this forthcoming exhibition\, Taiwanese-American artist Hai-Wen Lin fashions garments as kites: creating sculptures that move between the body and the environment. Made with the intimacy of clothing and the logic of flight\, the works draw on visual traditions from Buddhist jiasha robes to Appalachian quilts\, becoming a practice of “tending”—a way\, as the artist says “to clothe the wind.” \nWith delicacy and desire\, these works also care for bodies and landscapes that shift as constantly as the seasons. DESCRIPTION:The Pasaquoyan\nA Special Screening at Central Cinema\nWednesday\, November 4\, 2026 | 6 p.m.\nCentral Cinema | Knoxville\nFree and open to the public \nStep into the extraordinary world of Eddie Owens Martin\, better known as St. EOM\, in The Pasaquoyan\, a 1993 documentary directed by Doug Loggins. \nThis film traces the remarkable life and visionary imagination of Martin (1908–1986)\, the self-taught artist\, mystic\, fortune teller\, prophet\, and architect behind Pasaquan\, an eight-acre psychedelic art environment in Buena Vista\, Georgia. From his departure from rural Georgia as a teenager to his years in 1920s New York City and his eventual return to Georgia\, Martin’s unconventional journey culminated in the creation of a mythic world where past and future collide. \nFeaturing interviews with figures including author Tom Patterson and musician Bruce Hampton\, The Pasaquoyan offers a fascinating portrait of an artist who transformed his life\, surroundings\, and spiritual visions into an immersive work of art. \nSt. EOM is a featured artist in the Knoxville Museum of Art’s exhibition No-Man’s-Land\, on view through November 8\, 2026.
