Planters with Pizzazz Workshop

This workshop will cover a variety of pottery-making and ceramic construction techniques using stoneware clay. Learn how to transform vessels into characters that tell a story by using stamps, sculpting, and carving. We’ll cover surface decoration and firing, including under-glazing and glazing techniques and sgraffito. This workshop will focus on making a pot that your plant will love!  All skill levels welcome.

Bryan Wilkerson
is a Tennessee Native and Professor of Art and Design at Roane State Community College. Wilkerson received a BFA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an MFA from Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. Wilkerson’s creative practices are focused primarily on Ceramics and Public Art but extend into design and drawing. Wilkerson’s work explores humor, craft, irony, and play through common symbolic references. Wilkerson is also the creator and director of the ArtMobile traveling gallery and pop-up workshop space.
