Soundscapes at the KMA: January 2024

Welcome to Soundscapes at the KMA, a monthly concert series that combines the magic of art and live music at the Knoxville Museum of Art. We’ve curated an exciting lineup of musical acts spanning a range of genres that will take the stage one Friday evening a month from December to August. Enjoy the performance and a cocktail in beautiful Bailey Hall or explore the art on view as music weaves through the galleries. Soundscapes is an experience designed to elevate your senses and lift your spirit. Kick-off your weekend in an extraordinary atmosphere that allows you to see, hear, and feel art in a whole new way.

Karen Bryant is an entertaining and engaging performer. Known as “The VOICE”, Karen is a singer-songwriter with a warm and passionate spirit with a powerful, soulful voice and a captivating stage presence. Her vocal stylings are influenced by many genres and she has a strong belief in a positive message in music.  Her musical journey has also afforded her the opportunity to perform with vocalist Maysa, trumpeters Tom Browne and Rick Braun, saxophonist Marion Meadows and the legendary, Multi-Grammy Award winning band The Yellowjackets just to name a few. She has performed at some of the biggest and most notable music events around the world, from the iconic Atlanta Jazz Festival to the amazing and exotic Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival in Aruba. Karen released a solo project entitled “Now It’s Time” that displays not only her vocal ability but her ability as a songwriter as well. While Karen has found a home in Smooth and Contemporary Jazz, she is no stranger to Old School R&B and hits from the ’70’s, ’80’s, ’90’s and 2000’s. She also sings some Gospel, Pop and Country.
