When you think of the violin, you may immediately think of orchestras and symphonies, yet the violin has been a very prominent instrument in the world of Jazz. Artists like Regina Carter, Noel Pointer, Eddie South and the first lady of Jazz Violin Ginger Smock (among others) have shown just how Jazzy you can get with a violin. Brooke Alford, The Artist of the Violin is one of today’s stand-out contemporary jazz violinists. This Aberdeen, North Carolina native who calls Atlanta, GA home is blazing the airwaves with her 2021 Smooth Jazz single release “SHINE” and her latest 2022 single “New Day”. Both songs will be featured on her highly anticipated 5th CD.

A Smooth Jazz Charting Artist and Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Listee, Brooke Alford, The Artist of the Violin is an artist who consistently strives for excellence all-round. Since the start of her professional career in 2007, Brooke has independently released 1 LP and 2 EPs under her company and label, Alford Enterprises & Entertainment Group, LLC. Her second CD, “The Viosocalist” EP was produced and released under The Platinum Crown Music Independent label. Brooke’s official national radio debut occurred in 2018 with her Smooth Jazz single, “Closer” featuring award-winning International Recording Artist Bob Baldwin. Brooke’s body of work encompasses a fresh and creative blend of Smooth Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Western European Classical, and more.

Opening for some of the best musical artists and entertainers in the industry has catapulted Brooke’s career to outstanding heights thus far. These notable artists and entertainers include The Whispers, Mint Condition, Peabo Bryson, Najee, Will Downing, Marion Meadows, Paul Taylor, Marcus Johnson, India.Arie, Tony, Toni, Tone`, and the late iconic Comedians Paul Mooney and Dick Gregory. Alive After Five presents: Saxophonist Kelley O’Neal & Special Guest Vocalist Lauren Arp

Kelley O’Neal‘s journey as an artist began at the age if nine in Huntsville, Alabama … and now, he is one of the most sought after saxophonists and entertainers in the music scene nationally. Kelley leads an Atlanta-based group known as the Kayoband, performing high energy contemporary jazz & old school R&B with a touch of today’s dance music.

His first major tour was with BeBe and CeCe Winans where he played sax and keyboards. The tour took him around the world for nearly two full years. The tour also created opportunities for television appearances for Kelley on The Arsenio Hall Show, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the Essence Awards Show.

In addition to soloing and playing with his own Kayoband throughout the country, Kelley has performed internationally with some of the leading acts in the music industry, including  jazz and R&B notables including Paul Jackson Jr., Bobby Lyle, Julian Vaughn, Nathan East, Rick Braun, Take 6, Brian McKnight, Eric Essix, and Jeff Lorber.

Kelley is also a member of a brass ensemble called the Tuscaloosa Horns and Kelley also performs & tours regularly with legendary R&B groups including The O’Jays, The Temptations, and The Four Tops.

Lauren Arp is an emerging singer/songwriter from Tennessee with a powerful new spin on the enduring traditions of the R&B genre. She embodies the convergence of modern soul and urban pop, and delivers a bold approach to the traditional music stylings of the legends that influence her. She is confident, heartfelt and un-apologetic; she’s vocal master with range the varies from smooth to introspectively gritty. Her songwriting is captivating and her warm and effortlessly vocal range carries her lyrical testimonies about love, honesty, relationships, and disappointment straight to the listener’s heart.

In her most recent single, “Next Time”, Lauren blends original songwriting, melodic gestures, vintage soul vibes, and modern R&B beats for a radio-friendly, but emotionally raw reality check. She is currently working with a few of the industry’s top producers and songwriters to evolve her signature sound for an upcoming album release. Lauren travels frequently, connecting with fans across a variety of venues. During a two-year stint in New York City she performed at numerous venues, making memorable appearances at Toshi’s Living Room, Birdland, New Word Stage, The West End Lounge, Taj and Joe’s Pub. In her hometown of Tennessee, she performs full-time, and graces three several bands with her lead vocal talent.

Alive After Five presents Groove Centric with Heather Hayes

GROOVE CENTRIC with HEATHER HAYES

Being born to greatness doesn’t guarantee that greatness will be passed on, but in this case, it’s undeniable. Born the daughter of legendary soul singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer Isaac Hayes, Heather Hayes has greatness flowing systemically through her veins.

While under the tutelage of her father and music greats like the “Godfather Of Soul”, James Brown, Heather Hayes honed her skills as an entertainer with the unique ability to leave audiences breathless and wanting more. Heather’s musical experiences don’t end there, she’s worked as a singer for artists such as Beyonce Knowles and Arrested Development, danced for Michael Jackson, Sean P. Diddy Combs, and Brian McKnight, and danced and choreographed stage shows for James Brown.

The Groove Centric band was started in 2008 in Atlanta, GA. They have since grown into a trendsetting group that tours and performs all around the southeastern United States and the country. Collectively, they have played with a multitude of notables including Mandisa, Jennifer Holliday, Monica, Musiq Soulchild, India Arie, and Al Green to name a few.
