Punch Needle Embroidery with Tabitha Arnold
Punch Needle Embroidery with Tabitha Arnold
Tabitha Arnold’s tapestries are rich, complex stories that add to the fabric of the new KMA exhibition, The Body is a Drum, The Voice a Song, The Soul a Fire.
In this free one-day workshop, participants will create their own small embroideries by learning Tabitha Arnold’s punch needle technique and process. Participants will have the option to keep finished pieces or contribute them to an ongoing artist project.
Tabitha Arnold states that “The collective tapestry is a project that will grow over the course of several workshops across various cities, where participants embroider scenes, tools, or symbols of their work on small squares that will come together into a quilt-like collage.”
Optional: Bring your own punch needle tools and your favorite yarn! (Worsted or sport/DK weight.)
There are limited spots available for the Punch Needle workshop. In order to register, please contact Assistant Director of Education, Lilly Saywitz, at LSaywitz@knoxart.org by 5:00 pm, Thursday December 4.
