November 29, 2012 (Knoxville, TN) – The Knoxville Museum of Art celebrates the holidays with a Family Fun Day Saturday, December 15 from 11am to 3pm. This holiday-themed day is packed with fun art-making activities, artist demonstrations, continuous entertainment on stage and docents in the galleries.
Children of all ages can create art at one of the many art-making stations inspired by current exhibitions Higher Ground: A Century of the Visual Arts in East Tennessee, and Currents: Recent Art from East Tennessee and Beyond.
In addition, the Thorne Rooms have been decorated to reflect the holidays, including 18th- century miniature vignettes of the season, presented by The International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA). Members of IGMA will be on hand to answer questions and help families make miniature wreaths.
Entertainment for Family Fun Day includes live music by the Johnson Swingtet, and caricature drawings by Marlee Parnell.
Snacks will be available for purchase. Family Fun Day is FREE thanks to the generous sponsorship of:
