The Pee-wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special is a kitschy 1988 holiday classic. The loose plot follows Pee-wee Herman compiling a massive, mile-long wish list for Santa. When Santa finally arrives, he reveals that fulfilling Pee-wee’s greedy demands means all the other children in the world will receive no presents.After realizing his mistake and getting prodded by his celebrity friends, Pee-wee selflessly gives his gifts back to Santa, and in return, gets to ride in the sleigh to help deliver toys.

Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas follows a poor, widowed otter and her son who separately enter a local Christmas talent contest to win the $50 prize, hoping to buy each other a holiday gift. Inspired by O. Henry’s “The Gift of the Magi,” the heartfelt story is a classic Jim Henson musical.
