May 12, 2011 (Knoxville, TN) – The Guild of the Knoxville Museum of Art presents Artists on Location, its sixth annual “plein-air event, exhibition and sale” Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Local and regional artists are invited to showcase their talent by producing a work or works of art on site at the location of their choosing in and around the Knoxville area and then exhibit those works at the KMA Artist on Location exhibition.
Schedule of events:
Friday June 10: Demonstration at 7pm at the KMA by Nashville Artist Dawn Whitelaw Admission of $10 at the door includes light hors d’oeuvres.
Saturday June 11: Artists create “en-plein” air at the location of their choosing sunrise until 3pm. Artists on Location exhibition and sale 7:30-10pm at the KMA. Free and open to the public. Free hors d’ oeuvres and cash bar with live music by the Dennis Dow Trio.
Proceeds from Artists on Location benefit the Knoxville Museum of Art in memory of Betsy Worden. Presenting Sponsors for this event include The Gilliam Montgomery Group of UBS and Strata-G.
