Tennessee Triennial Weekend
Tennessee Triennial Weekend | July 11 & 12
Celebrate Tennessee Triennial Weekend with two days of art, music, film, and family-friendly fun in Knoxville!
Saturday, July 11
Kick off the weekend at the Knoxville Museum of Art from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM with KMA’s Mini Giant-Puppet Parade, created in collaboration with Cattywampus and accompanied by the lively sounds of the Honkers & Bangers.
Everyone is invited to join the festivities- whether you want to march in the parade or cheer from the sidelines. Arrive at 10:00 AM to create your own colorful hand puppet (or bring one from home), then join the parade as it winds through the museum grounds beginning at 11:15 AM. The celebration concludes with a puppet dance party for all ages.
The fun continues at Central Cinema at 2:00 PM with a special holiday-themed double feature:
- Pee-wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special
- Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas
Acclaimed artist Wayne White will be on hand to introduce the films and share insights into these beloved classics.
Cost: Free for KMA members | $5 non-members
Sunday, July 12
The Tennessee Triennial Weekend celebration continues with a day focused on art and music. Enjoy a special interactive Musical Zoo presented by the Joy of Music, and don’t miss the final gallery talk for Wayne White: Revenge of the Knoxville Girl, offering a last opportunity to explore the exhibition with added perspective and discussion. Meet us at the KMA 1:00-4:00 PM!
Join us for a memorable weekend celebrating creativity, community, and the arts.
